FAQs
Who is this for?
This is a high quality experience for parents / guardians who want some quality time with one of their kids (there is a family room too). It’s designed to provide an escape from the bustle of daily life (and the cooking, cleaning and planning) so allowing space to focus on what we wish we had more time for: fun, healthy conversations with good people, fresh air and exercise. There are coaching style conversations woven throughout, and chats to onboard skills to support teens building a fulfilled and healthy life. This is as much about the chance for mum or dad to have a break as it is for the kids. Typically kids are 12+ looking to balance fun, relaxation, and practical tools for wellbeing.
What are the sessions and are they compulsory?
Each day there will be a series of conversations, thought provoking questions or mini-workshops to help subtly build connection and knowledge to support wellbeing both now and in the future. Everything is optional, although most people get stuck in and feel these become valued parts of their experience.
Can my teen revise?
I’d love this to be a step away from the classroom entirely for your child, but, there is a calm study space for revision if needed.
How do we get there?
Porthcothan Bay is 5 hours from the M25 by car. Newquay Airport is 20 minutes away and pickup can be arranged.

“Everything we have talked about, whether that was as a group or one to one, has helped me massively and I’m so glad we had the opportunity to come. Thank you!” Ella, 14, Year 9

“I would thoroughly recommend this break to anyone. I came away feeling calmer & more positive than I have in a long time.” Kate, mum of four
“It has been a truly magical few days and I will be going away with new friends, a new focus and determination, and inspiration for mindfulness and breathwork. Thank you.” Laura, mum
“My aim was to re-connect with my son & learn some wellness techniques to help enable me to cope better with daily life. For us, this was achieved through daily cold-water dips, beautiful walks, HIIT workouts & a coasteering session.” Lisa
“To hear my daughter on Monday morning, back to school, say to me that she wasn’t keen on going but what’s the point of her moaning, and that she needs to just get on with it for the next few months as the exams are happening anyway and she can’t change that… wow.”
“Just brilliant… a shift in mindset already which couldn’t have come at a better time.”
